Individuals that need to complete CPR training without any first aid training can do so through workplace approved stand-alone CPR classes. We offer three levels of stand-alone CPR training. These levels range in length and complexity. CPR level “A”, also referred to as CPR for basic life support, is the simplest and shortest CPR course available. CPR “C” is more comprehensive and CPR “HCP” is the most detailed and lengthy CPR course. All of our workplace approved CPR programs include training in the use of AED’s. This page will outline the CPR courses that we offer in Halifax.
CPR level “A”, also known as CPR for basic life support, is a 3 to 4 hour CPR and AED program designed to teach basic rescue skills for adult victims. The certificate that candidates receive from this course is valid for 36 months and meets a number of government, workplace and school requirements. Registration and more information can be found on our CPR level “A” page.
CPR level “C” is the most popular stand-alone CPR program available through the Halifax First Aid. This course teaches all of the components from CPR level “A” and adds CPR rescues for child and infant victims. This course includes AED training and provides candidates with a certificate that is valid for 3 years. This course takes approximately 5 hours to complete. To register for a CPR level “C” course visit our CPR “C” page.
CPR level “HCP”, also known as CPR level “C” for health care providers, is the longest and most intensive stand-alone CPR course provided through Halifax First Aid. This course encompasses all of the training and education from CPR “C” and adds additional training components such as the use of advanced equipment and trained backup. For more information or to register for a CPR “HCP” and AED course visit our CPR “HCP” page.
